Activity Type: Research
Activity Description
We propose a randomized controlled trial of a self-management support intervention for low-income, minority adults with COPD that involves comprehensive screening for and targeted management of barriers to COPD control and combines this with home-based pulmonary rehabilitation and pre-emptive medication prescribing for COPD exacerbations. We will compare the intervention with an attention control for effects on COPD controller medication adherence and other self-management behaviors, symptoms and exercise capacity at 6 months and hospitalizations and emergency department visits at 12 months.Audience
